Hablamos con Helen Cummins sobre construir y vivir en Mallorca

A conversation about residential architecture, planning permissions, urban development, and the way of living on the island, shaped by nearly 20 years of developing projects across Mallorca.

At the studio, we understand architecture as a way of experiencing a place. Designing in Mallorca means working with light, landscape, and materials, but also with everything that often goes unnoticed, regulations, planning permissions, orientation, and the way each person imagines their everyday life at home.

For this reason, it was a pleasure to take part in the Mallorca Living Video Podcast with Helen Cummins to discuss the reality of designing and building on the island. We spoke about the most common mistakes when purchasing a plot, licensing timelines, urban planning complexities, and our approach to creating architecture designed to endure and adapt to each client’s way of living.

We also reflected on the studio’s journey and some of the lessons learned throughout nearly 20 years of developing residential projects across different parts of the island, always with a perspective deeply connected to place and to the people who will inhabit these spaces.
